AB - We propose a new model for landslide dynamics under the assumption of a delay failure mechanism. Delay failure is simulated as a delayed interaction between adjacent blocks, which mimics the relationship between the accumulation and feeder part of the accumulation slope. The conducted research consisted of three phases. Firstly, the real observed movements of the landslide were examined to exclude the existence or the statistically significant presence of background noise. Secondly, we propose a new mechanical model of an accumulation landslide dynamics, with introduced delay failure, and with variable friction law. Results obtained indicate the onset of a transition from an equilibrium state to an oscillatory regime if delayed failure is assumed for different cases of slope stiffness and state of homogeneity/heterogeneity of the slope. At the end, we examine the influence of different frictional properties (along the sliding surface) on the conditions for the onset of instability. Results obtained indicate that the increase of friction parameters leads to stabilization of sliding for homogeneous geological environment. Moreover, increase of certain friction parameters leads to the occurrence of irregular aperiodic behavior, which could be ascribed to the regime of fast irregular sliding along the slope.

AB - We used GC/MS to determine the chemical composition of the essential oils of
wild Achillea plants native to Yugoslavia: Achillea millefolium L. ssp. pannonica
(Scheele) Hayak, A. crithmifolta W. et K., A. serbica Nym. and A. tanacetifolia All.
Seventy-four components were identified. All four oils contained camphor (416%),
l,8-cineole (623%) and bomeol (416%). In addition, artemisia ketone (4%) was
found in A. crithmifolta, alpha-thujone (4.5%) in Achillea millefolium, yomogi
alcohol and 2-pyrolidone were specific to A. serbica, and A. crithmifolia contained
cis-chrysanthenol(l.4%) and large amounts of the corresponding acetate (23.4%).

AB - Transparent single crystals obtained from the purified extract of the plant Hieracium plumulosum A. Kerner, Asteraceae were submitted to spectroscopic and X-ray studies. The spectroscopic (infra-red, mass spectrometry, 1 H and 13 C nuclear magnetic resonance) investigations suggested the presence of two isomers of lupeol acetate (C 32 H 52 O2) with tautomeric relationship. Their mixture crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group P2 1 : a = 19.170(2) Å, b = 8.128(1) Å, c = 21.832(2) Å, β = 90.24(1)°, V = 3401.7(6) Å, Z = 4 (two molecules in the asymmetric unit), D(x) = 1.095 g cm -3 , μ(CuKα) = 0.488 mm -1 . The structure was solved by direct methods and refined to a final R = 0.071 for 6636 reflections with I > 2o(I). The bond lengths around C20/(C60) are between single and double bonds indicating the superposition of the tautomers, i.e., lup-20(29)-en-3β-ol and lup-19(20)-en-3β-ol acetates. They are distributed with different ratio in the symmetry-independent positions. In addition, the difference maps revealed that toluene solvent molecules are also captured in the lattice. They substantially hindered the refinement of atomic positions in particular for the C19/(C59) functions.
