AB - Chemical composition of the essential oil isolated by hydrodistillation from the aerial blooming parts of Bidens cernua was analyzed. By GC and GC/MS analysis, 16 components were identified (70.1% of the total oil). The plant material yielded 0.5% (v/w) of gold-yellowish liquid with intensive, unpleasant and heavy scent. The principal compound was identified 1-phenylhepta-1,3,5-triyne (57.1%), followed by sesquiterpenes caryophyllene oxide, humulene-1,2-epoxide and alpha-selinene (3.0%, 3.1%, and 1.1% respectively), as well as (E,E)-1,3,11-tridecatriene-5,7,9-triyne (1.8%).

AB - The results of the chemical investigations of the essential oils from the flowers, leaves, sterns and rhizome of Peucedanum officinale are presented. The essential oil contents were 1.21% (v/w) in flowers, 0.64% (v/w) in leaves, 0.08% (v/w) in stems and 0.24% (v/w) in rhizome. By CC and GC/MS analysis, in all four oils the total of 132 compounds; was identified: 53 constituents (93.4% of total amount) in the oil obtained from the flowers, 70 (94.3% of total amount) in the oil from the leaves, 78 (87.8% of total amount) in the oil from the sterns and 67 (95.9% of total amount) in the oil from rhizome. in all oils investigated, monoterpenes were the dominant class of constituents (73.9-83.7%), with hydrocarbons (65.6-81.6%) as the most abundant representatives. Limonene, alpha-pinene and sabinene were identified as the most important constituents in common for all flour oils. In the oil from the flowers, leaves and sterns, beta-pinene and myrcene were also abundant. However, the flower oil differed from the others by a significant quantity of alpha-phellandrene.

AB - In this paper, the results of investigation on chemical composition of the essential oil from underground parts of wild-growing yellow oxeye, Telekia speciosa (Schreb.) Baumg. (Asteraceae) were presented. Essential oil was obtained by distillation of previously dried and ground roots and rhizome, with a yield of 1,73 % (w/w). Using GC and GC/MS, several constituents were detected in the oil. By means of IR, MS, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, the most abundant one (95 % of isolated oil) was identified as isoalantolactone.
AB - U ovom radu prikazani su rezultati ispitivanja hemijskog sastava etarskog ulja podzemnih organa samoniklog crnog omana, Telekia speciosa (Schreb.) Baumg. (Asteraceae).

AB - The oils of two wild Salvia species from Serbia: S. nemorosa from the Deliblato Sands (Vojvodina), and S. glutinosa from the vicinity of the Vlasina Lake (southeastern Serbia) were subjected to analysis. The oil yields from the dried aerial parts from S. nemorosa and S. glutinosa were 0.3 vol% and 0.028 g%, respectively. The compositions of the oils were determined using GC and GC/MS. In the oils of S. nemorosa and S. glutinosa 45 and 40 constituents were identified, respectively. The main components of the oils of S. nemorosa were caryophyllene oxide (13.4%), beta-caryophyllene (10.1%), germacrene D (5.7%) and sabinene (4.7%). In the oil from S. glutinosa caryophyllene oxide (26.5%), humulene epoxide (9.6%) and spathulenol (3.5%) were the major constituents.

AB - The quantity and chemical composition of oils from the aerial parts of Geranium macrorrhizum L. and Geranium phaeum L., Geraniaceae were investigated. Plant parts were collected in the blooming stage and water-distilled and the oils obtained were analyzed using GC and GUMS. Sixteen (G. macrorrhizum) and 21 constituents (G. phaeum) were identified in the oils, respectively. The main constituent of G. macrorrhizum oil was identified as germacrone (37.4% of total oil), while in G. phaeum oil piperitone (12.3%) could be designated as the most prominent one.

AB - The essential oil from the aerial parts of Nepeta rtanjensis DiMic et Milojevic, Lamiaceae was obtained by steam distillation of the herb, collected in full blooming stage, with an average yield of 0.3%. Nineteen constituents (95.0% of the total oil) were identified by mass spectrometry. The principal one was 4a alpha,7 alpha,7a beta-nepetalactone (86.4%), along with 2-methoxy-p-cresol (1.5%), alpha-pinene (1.4%) and 1,4-dimethylbenzene (1.0%). All the others were present in quantities below 1%.

AB - The essential oil of Mentha pulegium L., Lamiaceae was obtained by steam distillation of the herb, collected during the period of full flowering, when 0.2% was gained. The analysis of its chemical composition was performed using GC and GC/MS. Twenty-two components (89.9% of the total oil) were identified. The principal one was menthone (30.9%), while the other important were pulegone (14.1%) and neomenthol (13.8%) and caryophyllene oxide (9.0%).

AB - The aerial parts of wild Stachys recta L., Lamiaceae, collected in the vicinity of Nis (Southern Serbia) during the full blooming stage, contained only 0.014% of essential oil. Using GC and GC/MS, 32 components were identified, predominantly alcohols and adequate oxides. The major constituent was 1-octen-3-ol (19.7%). The other important components were caryophyllene oxide, humulene oxide and nerolidol, but present in significantly lower amounts (4.6%, 3.8% and 3.6%, respectively).

AB - The aerial parts of the wild plant Nepeta nuda L. collected in Serbia and the Durmitor region contained respectively 0.67–0.70% and 0.4% oil. Each oil was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. The main constituent was 1,8-cineole; (42.8–63.8%), with the higher level found in the oil of plants harvested in full flower. Other major constituents included germacrene D (1.8–15.0%), β-caryophyllene (3.6–6.9%) and α-terpineol (6.9–7.0%).
