The chemical composition of the essential oil isolated from the following herb of Senecio squalidus L., Asteraceae by water distillation was determined by GC and GC/MS. Fifty-eight components were identified (94.1% of the total oil). with p-cymene (29.3%) and alpha-phellandrene (24.7%) as major constituents.
