The effects of cosmetic products for care and protection of children's skin

Abstract

Cleansing, protection and care of children skin always present the sensible topic, either for parents for who the health and prosperity of their children is at the first place, or for cosmetic industry, which should manufacture the product of acceptable efficacy and safety, as much as possible. The task to be put in front of preparation for children skin clean is removing of impurities and body excretes as well as pathogenic microbes, desquamated epidermal cells and rest of cosmetic preparations from the skin surface. Skin care preparations for children should substitute the lipids removed from the kid's skin by bathing, to keep its moisturization level, reduce the friction and protect it from the impurities. Protective preparations should prevent harmful effects of urine and feces, sun radiation, and insect's sting. A huge number of children's cosmetic products belong to group of multipurpose preparations, with combined different effects in a product (the most common care and protection). Specific effects of these preparations depend, first of all, on incorporated active substances, but on formulation at all. The side effects of these products, although rarely, happen mainly due to incorrect use and not to quality of product itself.

Čišćenje, nega i zaštita dečije kože uvek predstavlja osetljivu temu, kako za roditelje kojima je zdravlje i dobrobit dece na prvom mestu, tako i za proizvođače kozmetičkih preparata, koji treba da izrade proizvod sa maksimalnim učinkom i minimalnim rizikom prilikom upotrebe. Preparati za čišćenje dečije kože imaju zadatak da uklone nečistoće i izlučevine tela, patogene mikroorganizme, deskvamirane ćelije epidermisa i ostatke kozmetičkih preparata sa površine kože. Preparati za negu dečije kože obezbeđuju koži dovoljnu količinu lipida koji su odstranjeni tokom kupanja, održavaju kožu vlažnom, smanjuju trenje i štite kožu od nečistoća. Zaštitni preparati mogu da štite kožu dece od delovanja urina i fecesa, od štetnog delovanja sunca, od uboda insekata. Veliki broj proizvoda dečije kozmetike pripada višenamenskim preparatima, pri čemu je u jednom proizvodu kombinovano više različitih delovanja (najčešće nega i zaštita). Specifični efekti ovih preparata zavise, pre svega, od dodatih kozmetički aktivnih supstanci, ali i formulacije proizvoda kao celine. Neželjena dejstva kozmetičkih proizvoda za decu, iako vrlo retka, nastaju, pre svega, zbog neadekvatne primene preparata, a veoma retko usled nekvalitetnog proizvoda.
