Abstract
The sunscreen products are separated in two groups: sunscreens primary for UVB protection, „beach products", and products with predominant UVA filters, „everyday protection". In order to test the market of these products, we prepared inquiry with 17 questions, separated in two classes: product characteristics, producers (kind of products and packaging, values of sun protection factor, producers whose products are predominant on the market, etc.) and questions about knowledge and attitude of salespeople and buyers (salespeople's opinion about the trend of interests of the buyers, offer on the market, etc.). Research comprised adequate number of retails in Belgrade: pharmacies, supermarkets and shops. The aim of this study was to look into the market share of these products, to analyze the familiarity with the sunscreen products and attitude of salespeople in order to propose measures for health promotion. Research results show that the offer of the sunscreens on the market, especially d...uring the summer season, is satisfying. Pharmacists are well informed about sunscreen products, but people hardly ever ask them for the advice. Usually, they ask salespeople in the shops, who are not acquainted with sunscreen products, and supermarkets staff is completely uninformed. Education is necessary at all levels in order to raise consciousness about health self care.
